The Boa dial-in closure system is one of the most revolutionary designs that makes dialing a perfect fit easy, even if you need to make micro-adjustments on the bike. The R5B closure system starts with a conventional hook-and-loop strap close to the toe for near-infinite forefoot width control, with Boa Cable dial-in closure system through 4 separate anchor points for complete control all the way up to the tongue.
Fizik has shaped the heel cup at the aft position of the keeping the foot in the perfect position on hard up-strokes and while climbing. This has been further improved by a variable stiffness sole construction. Underfoot, the R5 makes use of a carbon-reinforced nylon outsole.
The R5B is extremely breathable with Fizik's Microtex for the support structure of the uppers and nylon mesh for the ventilation windows. Together, these materials keep your feet breathing and comfortable on long rides. The insole, Fizik included its own Superlight shock absorbing Insole.
