PF30 for the road means a 46mm diameter, 68mm wide bottom bracket shell. Getting it to work with Campagnolo Over-Torque cranks takes this bb kit.
The package features CeramicSpeed Standard or Coated Bearings installed in cups. Hardened-steel races move thanks to super smooth, super round CeramicSpeed Balls in both versions. The Coated version has a metallic coating 3 microns thick laid onto the hardened steel, making it even smoother and harder, resulting in even lower drag and longer life.
30mm spindle diameter is the heart of an Over-Torque crank. It works great inside the 46mm diameter bottom bracket shell; room for both spindle and larger balls.
CeramicSpeed Standard Bearings barely register any resistance: frictional drag measures 0.3-0.4 watts per bearing set. That's in the realm of a 75% drag reduction compared to a standard bottom brackets. Thanks to the CeramicSpeed Balls that are 400% smoother, 128% harder, & 58% lighter than typical steel balls. The bearings last at least three times longer than other bearings.
Coated Bearings offer a quantifiable performance boost. 60% longer life and a 50% drag reduction.
When you change the grease, you change the performance. All Round Grease comes installed, but can be changed for lower drag TT and Track Grease, or higher durability LongLife Grease, which adds a bit of drag but stays in when riding through messy conditions.
