Here you can see how the new Giro Aether with spherical MIPS technology differs from other MIPS helmets.  MIPS reduces rotational energy upon impact and the technology was traditionally embedded within the helmet against the head.  This however had some effect on cooling and comfort.  The Aether places MIPS between two layers of EPS foam creating a helmet without compromises.
