Saddles

Bicycle saddles (not called seats) are the most critical component when it comes to enjoying your next ride.  Saddles come in many designs and widths.  Some saddles have a "cutout" or channel in the middle that relieves pressure in this area (perineum).  You want your weight on your "SITS" bones which are the two bony protrusions, not in your soft tissue which can cause numbness and soreness.  Note that a highly padded saddle is not always the best, especially for long rides as it creates more soft tissue contact as you sink into it.
