Yet another option in cycling power meters, the Powertap P1 pedal system is now available at The Sport Factory; a Powertap Preferred Dealer.  The power meter pedal has been one of the most eagerly awaited devices, and unfortunately disappointing thus far.  Powertap has done their homework on these and the reviews have substantiated them.  Like the Stages power meter the P1 system features both Bluetooth smart and Ant+ connectivity which means you can use your Garmin or your smartphone app..  They are simple "plug and play" and do not require calibration of any kind.  They measure left and right power separately and come in at a very competitive price point of $1199.  

Powertap read the market well and recognized that the wheel based system had it's limitations.  They will soon be introducing their own crank based system, the C1, as well.
